Your personal lesson plan
At Rijschool Denhaag every lesson trajectory begins with a personal lesson plan. After your trial lesson or first introduction, your instructor draws up a plan tailored precisely to your level, learning style and goals. Are you an absolute beginner who has never sat behind a steering wheel? Then we start with the basics: vehicle controls, pulling away, braking and steering in a quiet environment. Have you had driving lessons before at another school, or do you have experience on a moped or scooter? Then we skip the first steps and pick up right where you left off. The lesson plan is not a static document that gets filed away in a drawer. It is a living overview that we update after every lesson. Your instructor tracks which elements you have mastered, where you are still struggling and which new skills are next. That way you always know exactly where you stand and how far you still have to go. That transparency matters to us. We do not want you to feel in the dark after twenty lessons. Your lesson plan typically follows a phased structure. The first phase focuses on vehicle control: clutch, gear changes, braking and steering. The second phase is about traffic awareness: right of way, roundabouts, intersections and merging. In the third phase you combine everything in complex traffic situations, such as busy streets in central Den Haag, the ring road and motorways towards Delft and Zoetermeer. The final phase is exam preparation, during which we practise the CBR routes from Rijswijk. The number of lessons varies per student, but on average you need between thirty and forty lessons. With a clear lesson plan and a dedicated instructor you get the most out of every driving lesson.
